We have received your letter of 15 December to Mr Simon Vickers. I apologize for not having send you the official record of the LegCo debate. I am now sending it with this letter. I shall send you updated figures as soon as possible.

The LegCo has set up a sub-committee on this issue which is going to meet at the end of this month. have been requested to attend the meeting. It would be useful if we are also aware of the Indian Government's position, which adds an international dimension to the issue, when we go to the sub-committee meeting. Is it possible for us to see the extracts mentioned in the first paragraph of your letter of 15 December to New Delhi?
