STEERING COMMITTEE ON BRITISH NATIONALITY SCHEME

General Occupational Class

Revised Profiles of OG1(N), OG7, OG9 and AO 1

Purpose

This paper seeks members' endorsement of the changes in the profiles of applicants in OG1(N), OG7, OG9 and AO 1.

Advice Sought

2.

Members will be invited to advise whether personality checks and verification interviews should be carried out for the applicants in the above OGs and AO whose adjusted scores are sufficiently high to bring them within the relevant quotas.

OG1(N) Managers and Administrators (non-civil servants)

3.

It is necessary to revise the profile of applicants in OG1(N) as a result of the transfer of 4 applicants from the civil service queue to the non-civil service queue of OG1.

4.

Two of the applicants concerned are Senior Executive Officers who have been released to work as Commission Against Corruption Officer (CACO) in the ICAC. Based on their previous service in the Executive Officer grade, both of them applied in OG1. As they were in Government service on the common date i.e. 1 December 1990, they were initially included in the civil service queue of OG1.
