This is a belated note to express our appreciation for all the work you did in chairing the Advisory Group on British Undertakings. I am sure that when you took this on you did not bargain for the amount of time and effort it would take. But it was clearly right to put the resources into this which were required to conduct a high-quality operation, defensible publicly if need be, even if fine judgements were required in some cases.
