Thank you for your facsimile letter of 9 January and your comments on several potential undertakings.

List A

BP Petroleum Development Ltd. There are several BP companies with this name operating throughout the world including three, namely BP Petroleum Development Ltd, BP Petroleum Development (Dorset) Ltd and BP Petroleum Development (Southern England) Ltd that would appear to operate out of the UK. I think we should therefore keep the company A listed although you are correct in that all three are listed as 100% subsidiaries of British Petroleum Co Plc.

List B

I have spoken to Tradition Asia Ltd. The company is ultimately owned by the Swiss Group Financiere Tradition Cie but reports directly to the London company Tradition (UK) Ltd who in turn reports to the UK based Tradition Services Holding Group. The company should therefore remain on the B list.

List C

The basis of our information on Blacks Far East and Greenfields Leisure International came from the collective knowledge of the Special Advisory Committee members. A little more research, including a trip to Companies Registry, shows however that both companies are subsidiaries of Greenfields Leisure Plc of Harford House, 101-103 Great Portland Street, London W1N 6BH. Both companies should therefore remain C listed but as Greenfield subsidiaries: English Sewing (HK) Ltd is a subsidiary of Tootal Group plc.
