Dear
Mr Kwok,
YOUR FORTHCOMING TRIP TO THE UK
1. I have not yet formally introduced myself, but you will have gathered from various correspondence that I have taken over at desk level in Hong Kong Department from John Morris
(John stays on as Assistant). I aim to visit Hong Kong on a familiarisation trip in the first quarter of 1993 and would hope to meet you then. I was pleased to learn from Chris Kelly that there may be an earlier opportunity to get together. I understand that you will visit the UK later this month 17 to 20 November-but that your substantive meetings will take place out of London. Peter Ricketts has asked me to register HKD's interest in seeing you and to see if we can find a time. We might for instance assemble a few others from Whitehall over a sandwich lunch.

Would you let me know what your plans are?
Yours sincerely,
