How many people are presently employed in the British Consulate in Warsaw dealing with applications for British visas, how many of these are British and how many locally employed.

Lord Cavendish of Furness: Warsaw has seven permanent full-time UK-based entry clearance officers supervised by the Consul (First Secretary) and supported by two UK-based and 19 locally-engaged staff of whom 18 are Polish and one is an expatriate Briton. The staff is increased by five temporary duty UK-based entry clearance officers and locally-engaged Polish staff to cover the busy summer period 1st April to 30 September.

Lord Hylton asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ensure the preservation of all official records and other documents in their possession relating to the events in the City of Londonderry on Sunday 30th January 1972, with a view to their availability in 2002 AD under the 30-year rule.

The Paymaster General (Lord Belstead): Official papers relating to these events have been preserved in the normal way. Decisions about disclosure of papers under the 30-year rule will be made at the appropriate time.
