THE PROBLEM

As HMG has introduced the "jumbo" (48-page) version of the common format passport (CFP) since 1 January 1992, we need to issue the "jumbo" version of Hong Kong British Dependent Territories Citizen (HKBDTC) and British National (Overseas) [BN(O)] CFPs as soon as practicable.

RECOMMENDATION AND ADVICE SOUGHT

It is recommended that -

(a) “jumbo" HKBDTC and BN(O) CFPs should be issued

with effect from 1 May 1992; and

(b)

the British Nationality (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Amendment of Schedule) Order 1992, at Annex A, should be made to set the fees for the "jumbo" HKBDTC CFPs.
