Many thanks for your letter of 27 November about reporting. This clarification is helpful and we will aim to meet the need. Perhaps we could have a final word or two when you visit next month. For example, we have again cranked up periodic telegrams on major projects and might appropriately weave in there a paragraph or two about British business prospects, renaming the series in the process. the point, but we had anticipated a steady flow of airport-related contracts through the first half of 1993...).

2. I am faxing herewith a copy of the note I passed to Tony Galsworthy on Friday. If that is of interest, I will aim to repeat every fortnight or so.
3. I realise you will be extremely busy during your visit to Hong Kong later in the month but if you have time, you might be interested in attending (a) a British Chamber lunch on 14 December when Tom Buchanan and I will tell a wider audience what we do and how we plan to work with Chamber members in the years ahead; and (b) a lunch I am giving on the 15 December for Sir Michael Palliser to meet a small group of the key figures involved in China. I have been in correspondence with him and there are a number of issues we hope to talk through during his short time in Hong Kong. I will see you get a copy of the correspondence and outline programme.
4. The foregoing can be settled at short notice once you have your main engagements fixed; and if you are at a loose end over the weekend, we shall be glad to take you out for some fresh air. Long walks over the hills with our dog help keep the place in perspective.
But miles,
You
