the construction of the Lantau Fixed Crossing

(LFC). The LFC links the new airport at Chek Lap Kok to the urban area and it passes through

northern Lantau Island and Ma Wan Island, within Tsuen Wan's boundary (see map at C). There

have been some acute environmental concerns

for Ma Wan because of the LFC, but these concerns

are being satisfactorily addressed by Government in conjunction with a private developer who

is proposing a large-scale residential and recreational

development on Ma Wan.
