Mr. LEUNG alleges that the Airport Consultative Committee is not given sufficient information or status by the UK, HK and Chinese Governments.

Line to take

Up-to-date information on the Airport Core Projects (ACP) has always been provided in a timely manner to the ACC. Also, the Administration will try its best to take into account the views of the ACC before major decisions on the ACP are taken.

Since its inception in November 1991, the Airport Consultative Committee has held six plenary meetings, four special meetings and nine sub-committee meetings. to discuss various aspects of the ACP, including the scope, programme, costs and progress of the ACP, the Environmenta Impact Assessments, the Airport Master Plan, the financing of the ACP and the award of the Tsing Ma Bridge Contract. Three special briefings have also been arranged by the Government to provide the most up-to-date information to the Committee on the new airport project and the financing plans for the new airport and the Airport Railway.
