Mr LEUNG believes that functional
constituencies represent only sectorial interests and therefore should give way to direct elections.
Line to take
Understand this is a matter of concern to some people in Hong Kong but there are others who feel that functional constituency seats have contributed to the work of LegCo and the community. No doubt the HKG will need to consider the views of all sectors of the community as well as the desirability to have convergence with the Basic Law.
