Delighted to be returning to Hong Kong for the second time this

year.

- Will be holding discussions with the Governor, members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, community leaders, senior officials, and businessmen on a wide range of issues.

Will not be making any announcements on constitutional

developments.

Looking in particular at science and technology projects in Hong Kong: visiting Hong Kong Telecommunications Earth Station, Hong

Kong University of Science and Technology. Presenting computer

equipment to Community English Language Laboratory (sponsored by

Anglo/Hong Kong Trust and Watsons-chemists chain).

Going on to Vietnam. First visit. Meeting ministers and

officials. Spending a day in Quang Ninh Province to see UK funded

resettlement projects. Hope to meet number of Vietnamese returned

from Hong Kong.
