VISITS BY LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL AND SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WALES

Would you please refer to our telno 1332 of 4 September about the Lord President's visit. I have been asked by the Lord President's office whether it would be possible to let the the Lord President have a finalised version of his programme in Hong Kong. This should include the arrangements for meeting the party on arrival and for their accommodation. Could this be sent to Wellington by 15 September in time for the Lord Presidents arrival?

2. I have also been contacted by the Welsh Development International Office about the Secretary of State for Wales' visit. They have asked to know how the arrangements for his program are progressing (reference Mark Powell's letter of 4 September a copy of which was faxed to you). In particular they are anxious to receive any briefing for this visit as soon as possible.
