As you know, my Secretary of State proposes to lead an inward investment mission to the East and West Coast of the United States, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong in the autumn. Whilst the American, Korean and Japanese legs of the mission will entail a direct approach to the attraction of further inward investment in to Wales, the Hong Kong leg will be fact finding in nature to establish, through official channels, the prospects of planned outward investment from the Colony being located in the Principality.

I should be grateful if you would provide me with suitable briefing for the mission by Monday 7 September. It would be helpful if the package could be sent direct to Mark Powell, Welsh Development International, 15th Floor, Pearl House, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff (tel: 0222 222666 extension 2226).
