23. Planning in now underway with the aim of having a new building ready for occupation in 1996. It will bring together the present British Trade Commission, the British Council and enable us to take on responsibility for immigration matters. Six architectural practices were invited to submit outline design proposals for the new
building by 10 April. These are being studied and a
decision on who will make the final design will shortly be
made. Construction will begin in early 1993 and be
completed during 1996.
