ANGLO/GERMAN TALKS
1.
As you will have heard from my PA, the Anglo/German talks arranged for today were again postponed at Mr Schlagintweit's request (owing to a visit by the Prime Minister of Mongolia to Bonn). Mr Schlagintweit was very apologetic on the telephone and much wanted to reinstate the talks as early as next week. But various diary constraints mean that, we cannot get together until THURSDAY 2 APRIL. The talks have now been re-arranged for that day.
2.
I am sorry that, once again, the briefing work done by Departments cannot be put to good use. I suspect, however, that much of the material will still be appropriate on 2 April. Nearer the time I shall circulate a fresh agenda and a request for up-dated briefing.
