follows:

Mr T Imai, Director for Asian Regional Policy, Asian Affairs Bureau, MFA

Mr S Tarui, Director for China, Asian Affairs Burea, MFA

- Mr C Harada, Director US Forces Agreement Division, MFA

Mr Izumi, Assistant Director, China Division (notetaker)

Mr Tanaka (Counsellor) and Mr Takahashi (First Secretary) will attend from the Japanese Embassy.

3. Mr Takahashi yesterday suggested a two and a half hour session in the morning and two hours after lunch. I have agreed with Mr Davies that 11 - 1600 hours including a working lunch in a private room in the OAB Canteen, should

be sufficient.

4.

Mr Harada, who arrives on 31 May a day earlier than the others, would like a separate additional call, I imagine on Sec Pol Department, to talk about the position of US Forces in Britain and in the EC generally. That call could be the same day or on 1 or 3 June. Would Sec Pol Department let me know what suits them best.
