Need for early announcement on Support Staff: (see Hong Kong telno 1277 and 1228 attached about press leaks)

Perhaps we should aim for an announcement in the week beginning 1 June. I should like to clear the text with Hong Kong but the gist of it could perhaps be that Mr Patten plans to appoint two personal advisers to join his Private Office in Government House. Names and brief CVs could be included in the announcement.
