Wen Wel Po quoted a spokesman for the Chinese State Council as saying in reply to a press question yesterday that Chinese leaders Deng Xiaoping, Peng Chun, Chen Yun and Wang Chun were enjoying good health and were constantly giving advice to the more junior leaders.

LABOUR
Ta Kung Pao and Wen Wel Po in good coverage carried a position paper released by the HK Federation of Trade Unions yesterday urging the authorides to halt the importation of the third batch of foreign workers. The organisation also called for stepped-up monitoring of the labour importation scheme and heavier penalty on employers who flouted the law.
TRADE
The Director-Gneeral of Trade, Donald Tsang, was quoted as saying yseterday that the Government was studying GATT's proposal on anti-dumping. Mr Tsang said that he would resume negotiations with participating countries to the Uruguay round of talks in Geneva next
month.

DRUGS
Sing Tao Daily reported that the Health Department would take to court three private doctors who were found to have been involved in the illegal sale of psychotic drugs. The move followed a massive search of more than 10 clinics last week, the paper noted.
