You may well remember the successful Abilympics held in Hong Kong last year. All the competitors were deeply impressed by the way they were cared for by their young Abi-hosts. So much so, that the British Airways team arranged with Sir Colin Marshall, the Chief Executive of BA to donate two round trip tickets Hong Kong-London-Washington by Concorde. At the closing ceremony, I was asked to annouce that these tickets would be raffled among all the young hosts. The successful pair will arrive in London on 18/7 and return to Hong Kong on 28/7.

As you know the Governor was the patron of the Abi-ympics and gave considerable support to the Event. F. C.0. staff in Room W12A advised me to write asking if the new Governor could in any way associate himself with this occasion. I know it would give great pleasore to all the disabled competitors who will have so many happy memories of the warm hospitality they received from their young hosts-- this is especially true of the BA team.
