COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY

Line to Take

It is a matter of settled public policy that each pay adjustment is a separate and independent exercise based on considerations at the time. In determining each year's pay adjustment, the results of the pay trend survey together with other factors such as cost

of living, state of the economy and budgetary constraints are taken into account. The 1992 pay adjustment fully reflected the pay trend indicators. Since the pay adjustment was determined in accordance with established policy, there was no case for review by a Committee of Inquiry.
