rocedures to Collect Your Pets

Arrival by an under Manifest Cargo

• Notify actual arrival details to AFD Import Control Oficers by telephonescableЛlaxseller

• Approach the arbre cargo ofce or its cargo handing agent in Hong Kong Kai Tak Irtomatonal Airport, Airport Government Cargo Olfice Block and obtain from them the related documents (eg air vaybill, shipment release form, airline certification and etc.).

• Present the above documents to the Duly Import Control Officers of this department at Hoorn 11, Ground Floor al the Airport Cargo Office Block for documentation clearance and relevant quarantine assessmert

• Present the shipment, release form to the supervisor of the Hongkong Air Cargo Terminals LID. (HACFL), a bulding next to the Airport Cargo Office Block, for retrieval of your pets.

• Bring along your pels to the Customs Examination Hall for usual customs clearance Duty Import Control Officers of this department will also carry out physical inspection of your pets.

• The pet dogs and cats will be released to you after full compfance of permit condition for those from Group I countries or directed by the Import Control Officer to the quarantine kennels for those from Group II and III countries,

In case of iness of the animals, the owners will normally be advised to contact the nominated privale veternary surgeon, However the quarantice kennels staff may use their discretion to cat a pavale votemnary surgeon to treat the animals at the owners' experse whenever recessary

Airport Animal Hostel

Space for animals in this hostel is more restricted than the other quarantine kernels. It caters mainly for animals/birds Rable to quarantine for short durations & the afport during transl/transhipment.

All imported pel dogs and cals may be released from quarantine kernels to the owner for re-export from Hong Kong before the completion of their prescribed quarantine period provided that written agreement is obtained from the AFD veterinary officer in advance and subject to the animals being escorted by an AFD officer to the point of departure,

Veterinary inspection service can be provided by this department by appointment to insped the pels before export and lees will be charged depending on the number of pets to be inspected. Aber examination, veterinary heath certificate will be issued, Owners are advised to check carefully the exact requirements of the destination countries before making an appointment with AFD Veterinary Officers. Endorsement of health certificates issued by a local registered private veterinary surgeons may also be provided by this department on a charged basis upon request of the pet owners.
