I communicated recently with Sir Geoffrey and Lady Tuema Pattie on the possibility of meeting with you to discuss aspects religious policy in China as that affects Hong Kong the Protestant and Catholic point of view.

Lady Tuema recommended that I wrote to you directly. Such an approach is presumptuous, I am aware. But having read of your Catholic background, I felt it might be useful at least to make such an approach.

The FAR EAST ECONOMIC REVIEW lists, in its current edition, books that you should read, and you may well feel somewhat overwhelmed with folk wanting to tell you what you need to know.

But, if it would be of help, I would be delighted to come to London (with or without others in the same field who would be of help).
