THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS

The school buildings consist of five tower blocks grouped around three playgrounds. One block consists mainly of eleven specialist Science laboratories and two computer suites; another houses specialist rooms for Music, Art, Drama, CDT and Home Economics. The three other blocks furnish the school with its main teaching classrooms. There is a large hall, a sports hall and a gymnasium. Other specialist facilities include a Language Laboratory, a Photographic Dark Room, a Sick Room, a small Book Shop run by the PTA, teaching rooms for extra English and extra Mathematics and a common room for the Sixth Form. In addition the school has an excellent swimming pool and the use of six on-site squash courts. The school possesses a brand new centrally air-conditioned Library with over 20,000 volumes run by a full-time qualified Librarian and an assistant.

THE TEACHING STAFF

The teachers come experienced and very well qualified from the United Kingdom. A list of the staff, their qualifications and responsibilities appears in the PTA Student Directory. Many of the staff have enjoyed experience in other countries and many have recent United Kingdom experience. There is a commitment to in-service training and the school's excellent GCSE results reflect this as does the teachers' willingness to take on new initiatives like the Advanced Supplementary levels. The relationship between the staff and the students is warm and courteous and is best demonstrated by the mutual pleasure and satisfaction which both parties gain from the school's extra- curricular programme.
