I would be grateful if you would seek ME. Patten s views of how he would like his Government House stationery? to be printed. This may seem a very mundane question, but it takes some time to do the printing and we would like to have it ready before Mr. Patten's arrival.

I attach a copy of a letter that shows the format that the present Governor uses. We have a large stock of notepaper bearing the Crown and the words "Government House Hong Kong" in English and Chinese. anything else, such as Mr. Patten's name at the top of the page, can be over-printed as Mr. Patten wishes.
