By way of explanation, the programme is a mixture of regular meetings on the present Governor's programme and additional meetings, visits and functions proposed specifically to enable Mr. Patten to meet as many of the leading community figures, and see as much as Is Hal
It is also possible, in his first few weeks.
intentionally not too crowded, so as to leave time for any necessary meetings on current issues and for Mr. Patten to see any VIP visitors of whom we are at present
unaware.
The regular meetings in the Governor's diary at
present are:-
Mondays 11.15 am: weekly meeting with Chief Secretary (CS) and Financial Secretary (FS)
Mondays 2.30 pm: weekly meeting with Lady Dunn Tuesdays 9.30 am: weekly meeting of Executive Council (ExCo)
Tuesdays 3 pm: monthly meeting with Mr. John Swaine, Deputy President of the Legislative Council (LegCo)
Fridays 9.30 am: weekly meeting with Senior Government officials (Branch Secretaries and above plus Information Coordinator and Director of Information Services)
Fridays 10.30 am: monthly Meeting of Governor's Security Committee/monthly meeting of China Policy Committee
