Dear Mr Patten,

LB

I understand that you have expressed an interest in hearing views from

all quarters in Hong Kong and the Chief Secretary has suggested that I

should write and let you know that I will be in London in the next few days

and would be happy to come and see if it would be of any assistance to you.

I was Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association in 1990 and 1991.

As you may be aware whilst the question of the Court of Final Appeal was

under discussion last year the Hong Kong Bar Association took a firm stand

on that and a number of other issues. Unfortunately I will only be in

London for a short time as my trip is primarily to see the children at school

and university. I will be arriving tomorrow morning and will be in London

on Monday the 18th. I will be back in London on the 24th and leaving on

the evening of the 26th. My address in London is 33 Eccleston Street and

there is a fax number there 071-730-4877. The telephone number is 071-730-

9555 and a message can be left as somebody should be there most of the

time.

Yours sincerely

Arthy Doyen.
