Heads of Mission Section arrange for a COI photographer

to come to Heads of Mission Section to take the official

photograph of Heads of Mission-designate.

The Head of

Mission-designate is given the opportunity to see the Proofs

of the photograph, and to make a choice.

Passport photographs

are also supplied for Heads of Mission-designate (but not

for spouses).

Use of the official photograph is governed by rules relating

to Crown copyright, and the distribution rights held by the

COI.

Heads of Mission should not therefore make the

photograph available to commercial agencies (such as the

Universal Pictorial Press and Agency Limited) without

reference to Information Department.
