PROTECTION FOR PATIENTS PRESSURE GROUP,

28, Lydwell Park Road, Torquay, Devon. 25.4.92.

Emily Lau, The Legislative and Executive Council and ALL the Hong Kong people, Hong Kong.

Dear Miss Lau, the Council and ALL the Hong Kong people,

THE HONG KONG GOVERNOR, MR C. PATTEN.

Mr Patten has one excellant ability which will probably be very necessary in the next five years for you all.

He is able to

assess and understand a situation and circumstances immediately.

It is very unlikely anything will have to be explained twice. Where he will certainly fail the Hong Kong people, if he does not change, is in his inability,

unwillingness and/or refusal to apply this gift for the benefit of you all.

As

25,718 Bath people and Bath students voted Mr Patten out of office because they found him unsatisfactory as their MP. a Bath student at Bath College of Higher Education, I spent two years repeatedly presenting the case for the protection of NHS and private patients from rejection and abuse by NHS and private doctors. This, together with human error damage and death, costs taxpayers £45 million annually to compensate, rising to possibly £200 million annually when arbitration is introduced. This diversion of money for compensation, deprives patients of healthcare. My presentations were supported by petitions and research evidence. To pay for this I lived on £5 per week food. The only response I ever had

from Mr

Patten was "I will read it." Not once did he ever suggest that questions could be raised at parliamentary question time, or that he would ask the Department of Health to investigate,

I was then delegate the job or even act for the public good. dismissed and shown the door. Bathonian service people told me they received the same indifference. A Bathonian man advised me to force Mr Patten into a political corner.
