STS 510/92
seems likely that this is simply a question of usage,
cf. Article 11.
Article 16(3)
English: "... requested..."
Dutch:
#1
•
vereist.. #
The Dutch term usually means "required" or "demanded",
which seems a bit strong here.
Article 16(3)
English: "... the surrendered person...
Dutch: "... the person handed over..." ("... de overgedragen
persoon...")
"Overgedragen" also appears (although not adjectivally) in Article 12 (2) where the English uses "handed over". It is not clear why it should have been used here in preference to "overgeleverd", which would be the logical choice in view of the fact that the verb from which it derives, "overleveren",
has been used consistently where the English uses
"surrender".
