Hong Kong/Canada Agreement for the Surrender

of Fugitive Offenders

In relation to the initialled text of the Hong Kong/ Canada Agreement for the Surrender of Fugitive Offenders, the Canadian side has requested to insert the word "psychoactive" in Article 2(1)(vii) so that the revised Article 2(1)(vii) would read -

"(vii) offences against the law relating to dangerous drugs, including narcotics and psychoactive/psychotropic substances;"

The word psychoactive is inserted because it reflects the wording of the relevant Canadian legislation. In terms of the Chinese text, the translation " 精神藥物

remains the same. We invite the Chinese side to accept this minor change.
