Kong-registered ships will be required to keep an official log book wherever they may be.

Hong Kong-registered ships will be required to report births and deaths onboard wherever they occur.

Ships registered elsewhere while in the waters of Hong Kong will be required to report to the Superintendent the death оп board of any person holding a Hong Kong identity card and the birth on board of a child to any such person.

Provision will be made for the Superintendent to conduct inquiries into the death of a person on board a Hong Kong-registered ship while in the waters of Hong Kong, and for him to authorise other persons to conduct such inquiries if the ship in question is outside Hong Kong.
