Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

Short title

This Ordinance may be cited as the Crimes (Amendment) (No. 2)

Ordinance 1992,

2. Loitering

Section 160(1) of the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200) is repealed

and the following substituted

"(1) A person who loiters in a public place or in the

common parts of any building with intent to commit an

arrestable offence commits an offence and is liable to a fine

of $10,000 and to imprisonment for 6 months.".

Explanatory Memorandum

This Bill repeals and substitutes the offence of loitering as

found at section 160 (1) of the Crimes Ordinance.
