Heung Yee Kuk Ordinance

Section 3(3)(a) of the Heung Yee Kuk Ordinance (Cap. 1097) is

amended by repealing "a Rural Committee being a society registered

or exempted from registration under the Societies Ordinance (Cap.

151) and approved by the Secretary for Home Affairs, and on the

withdrawal of such registration, exemption or approval" and

substituting

"a society in respect of which the Societies Ordinance (Cap. 151)

applies and

(i) which has been registered or exempted from

registration under that Ordinance before the

commencement of the Societies (Amendment) Ordinance

1992 ( of 1992); or

(ii) which has been acknowledged to be a rural committee

or a federation or other association of rural .

committees by the Secretary for Home Affairs under

section 6 of that Ordinance,

and on the withdrawal of such approval"
