days from the date of service of the order on him and the

Governor in Council may confirm, vary or revoke the order.

(4) A person who contravenes an order under subsection

(1) shall be liable on conviction on indictment to a fine of

$50,000 and to imprisonment for 3 years.".

Presumptions

Section 27 (a) and (c) is repealed.

Presumption of membership, etc. of society

17.

(1)

Section 28 (1) is amended by repealing "society are found

in the possession of any person, it shall be presumed, until the

contrary is proved, that such person is a member of such society,

and" and substituting "triad society are found".

(2)

Section 28 (2) is repealed and the following substituted

"(2)

Where any books, accounts, writings, lists of

members, seals, banners or insignia of or relating to any

unlawful society are found in the possession of any person, it

shall be further presumed, in the absence of evidence to the

contrary, that such person assists in the management of such

society."

(3)

Section 28 (3) is amended

(a) by repealing "by or for the purpose of an unlawful

society" and substituting "for the purpose of a

meeting of a triad society"; and

(b)

by repealing "a member of the unlawful society" and

substituting "attending the meeting of the triad

society".
