HONG KONG/KOREA AIR SERVICES AGREEMENT

Since I wrote to you on the above subject on 22 November, there have been, as you know, a number of press and other reports of the growing breadth of the PRC/ROK air services relationship. I now enclose an article that recently appeared in the Asian Wall Street Journal concerning a trade agreement that has been signed between the two countries.

On the face of them these developments further diminish any grounds that the Chinese may have for objecting to negotiation of a Hong Kong/ROK ASA, for which reason I should be glad to have your views, if they are now ready, on my earlier letter.
