1.I am sorry that there has been a slight delay in replying to your letter of 27 May, but i have been on leave. I am

that we are not intending to deploy Royal Naval vessels in the Malacca Straits.
2.Aviation and Maritime Department will soon be sending a telegram to all dependant territories on this subject. I have asked them to ensure that all relevant telegrams from now on are copied to you.
