Before the delegation left for Hong Kong on Saturday morning, it visited the
Taoyuan Villa ( ##), a small housing project developed by Dalian International Co. Ltd., the trading and investment arm of Dalian municipality in Hong Kong.
It was a small but stylish residential community with 36 detached houses each with about 150
sq. m in living area, all fitted with gardens and backyards. Community facilities included
indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a mini-golf course. The houses were for rent only and the target rentees were Japanese and Koreans working in Dalian. All units had already been taken up. In view of their popularity, there were plans to build more of these residential developments in Dalian.

Qingdao was a quite delightful city, and the municipal authorities appear to be proud of the city's beautiful old German buildings, tree-lined streets, and generous flowerbeds. The municipal government was housed in an attractive 19th century German building, and a new wing had been recently added in the same style. We were told that old
