Dear Mr. Moakes
1. Thank you for the papers from the China Relations Committee meeting, held on Saturday 11 January 1992. We and others in London find these papers very useful; the continuing series on the major developments in economic relations between Hong Kong and China is particularly valuable. We also find the occasional visit reports from areas of China outside Peking extremely useful. They form a valuable supplement to the Embassy's effort to report from the Provinces and cast useful light on what is actually happening on the ground in China.
2.
Ref to the circular 4/92 titled "China Relations Committee Report on PELB Visit to Pearl River Delta" para 2b (xi). Could you please clarify if this should be 15.5 per thousand of total population rather than 15.5 percent as this seems rather excessive!
