Special Advisers

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL: CALL ON THE PRIME MINISTER

Problem

A 1.

PS/No 10 has requested advice on the Prime Minister's

meeting with Amnesty International at 1100 on 24 November.

Recommendation

2. I recommend that the Prime Minister be accompanied by

Mr Hogg or, if he is unavailable, by Mr Goodlad. Mr Hum might also attend, as China is likely to be a major topic.

The Prime Minister may also wish to have a Home Office Minister present. I submit (direct, in Mr Bone's absence) a draft letter to PS/No10. Mr Hum and FED agree.
