Ministerial Responsibility
3. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs has overall responsibility for with the UK's relations with Brazil and the Community. The President of the Board of Trade
has an interest in some areas of the agreement.
3. Legal and Procedural Issues

Legal Basis
The agreement is based on Articles 235 and 113 of the Treaty
of Rome.
(ii)
Cooperation Procedure
The European Parliament is being consultd under the terms of
Article 235.
(iii) Voting Procedure
The Council is required to act by unanimity under Article
235.
