Main Provision
To enable the legali capacity of foreign corporations incorporated under the laws of territories which the UX does not recognise as states to be accepted by Hong Kong
To require an insurer to maintain certain portion of its assets in Hong Kong
To provide the Securities and Futures Commission with powers to investigate affairs of limited ocmpanies
To enlarge the grounds on which company directors may be disqualified; and to provide for
establishment of Companies Registry as a separate department
To notify Insurance
Authority of chnages in the particulars of its
operations; to delegate powers to the Insurance Authority in respect of sections 6 and 19; and to enhance the requirements on solvency margin in respect of long term business
To permit incorporation of certified public accountant practices
To provide power to assume control of authorised institutions, etc
To provide for changes to the law regarding the registration of charges
