I want to add my voice to other businessmen who wish to continue working here after 1997.

There really seems no point in risking so much

1993

for relatively little in the short term. As I think the Chinese saying goes, "You have to get along with your mother-in-law'.

We all like Patten, but he must see that this is not the time to turn push into shove as the wall we are pushing against could very well fall on top of us.

So let's wait and see what the situation is like in two years' time.
