Sgt 13273 LAM Kong and PC 19032 TANG Yau-keung were outstanding for their acts of bravery under extremely ha za rdous conditions. Both officers risked their lives when jumping from a pitching and rolling small boat onto a low lying rock, without the benefit of specialised training and rescue equipment, in heavy seas and dangerous conditions to save the lives of six fisherfolk from China. Even though working under extreme conditions; intermittent illumination; high seas; heavy wind; and cold driving rain; they managed, despite slipping and falling, to transfer the survivors to the reletive safety of the sea-rider, thus saving their lives.
