(Cap. 297) is amended by repealing "death,".
Homicide Ordinance

Section 6 of the Homicide Ordinance (Cap. 339) is repealed.
Emergency Regulations Ordinance

Penalties
Section 3 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance (Cap. 241) is
amended
(a)
in subsection (1), by repealing "including" and
substituting "excluding"; and
(b) by repealing subsection (3).
Explanatory Memorandum
Clauses 2 and 4 amend the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200) to repeal
the death penalty for treason and piracy with violence. Life
imprisonment is substituted as the penalty for these offences.
Clause 3 removes the reference to offences punishable by death and
replaces it with the offences to which section 15(a) applies.

Clauses 5 to 7 amend the Offences against the Person Ordinance
(Cap. 212) to repeal the death penalty for murder and make
consequential amendments to other sections.
Mandatory life
imprisonment is substituted as the penalty for this offence.
