At the sitting of 13 March 1991 the President of the European Parliament. announced that he had forwarded the motion for a resolution by Mr Do Clercq on the economic and commercial relations between the EC and Hong Kong, pursuant to Rule 63 of the Rules of Procedure, to the Committee on External Economic Relations as the Committee responsible.

At its meeting of 30 April 1991 the Commitrae decided to draw up a report and appointed Hr. Hindley rapportai.

At its meetings of 30 January 1992, 13 February 1992, considered the draft report.
