Applications for work permits from Taiwanese

businessmen are treated on a par with that of nationals

from other countries, Provided they possess special

skills, knowledge or experience of value which is not

readily available in Hong Kong, or are in a position to

make a substantial contribution to our economy, their

applications will be considered favourably. As regards

applications from Taiwan Government officials, the

general rule is that they are allowed to visit Hong

Kong in their private capacity only. The practice is to

issue senior officials with single visit permits

whereas junior officials may be issued with multiple

visit permits if they apply for them.
