I write on behalf of Mr Henry Keswick, Chairman of the Hong Kong Association, to say we are delighted that Lord Caithness has accepted our invitation to lunch with members of the Committee at Brooks's Club, St. James's Street, on Tuesday 10th March at around 12.45 for 1 pm, and that you will be accompanying him.

The usual form is that, after the main course has been served, we have a general discussion round the table on current Hong Kong topics, such as the New Airport, the Vietnamese Boat People, the importance to Hong Kong of the USA's most favoured nation (MFN) treatment of China, the Basic Law and Right of Appeal. I might add that the major firms are no longer as worried as they used to be about the Brain Drain, but the current high rate of inflation is causing them some concern.

I enclose a note setting out the aims and activities of the Association to give the Minister an idea of what we set out to do. I shall, of course, send you a list of those who will be present at the lunch nearer the day.
