President must decide before 3 June on
MFN for the period
to
MFN expires. (If not already renewed).
Next renewal debate due when new Bills
setting conditions for renewal in 1993 are
due.
31 August
- Before 31 August (if President has
renewed MFN) congress must vote on a Joint
Resolution of Disapproval (JRD). A JRD is
subject to presidential veto, and in this
case congress has only 15 days to
override his veto.
The debate on veto on a JRD may take place in August, but could run into September.
Any Bills outstanding at the end of the sessions
(October/November) automatically die, and new ones will
have to be introduced for 1993.
