letter of 15 May enclosing the financial statement of the HKG for the period 1 April 1991 to 29 February 1992.

I am afraid that, as I have already indicated to Nigel Cox, this is not the kind of financial information we are interested in. It is, of course, in-year information, whereas we had been more interested in projections of the Government's fiscal position covering the years ahead, up to 1997. As Nigel has explained, the HKG do not appear to make available projections of this kind on a regular basis, except at Budget time. So, while I am grateful for the offer, I would not want to be a regular recipient of the statements you have just sent me.

One extra piece of information which HKG might be able to provide without going to any trouble is a record of the actual contract prices, as the contracts are let, alongside what was assumed for them in the latest fiscal projections for the period upto 1997. Would this be possible?
